When we went to Halkidiki on holiday we were looking for a property. We came across Halkidiki Homes where we enquired as to what properties they had on their books within our price range. We booked a visit in October and Julie from Halkidiki homes took us around the area viewing different properties. Nothing was too much trouble. We eventually found an apartment we liked, put a deposit down, Dimitri arranged for us to see a notary (all the procedure was explained in English). By November/December the buying process was completed. There was no hassle, if there was anything you did not understand you would just have to ask and everything was explained to you in full. There were no hidden extras or costs and everything all openly done. They even arranged our furniture delivery for us!

Buying a property through Halkidiki Homes couldn't be easier. We found the whole process much more pleasant and quicker than doing a similar thing in the UK , Julie and Dimitris are extremely helpful and are always there to answer your calls or e-mails. The most simple and smooth way to conduct a purchase is to sign over power of attorney to a Greek lawyer which can be recommended by Julie and Dimitris. At this point all you need to do is sit back and make sure that you have your funds in place to transfer as and when needed. Of course this requires an element of trust but we had no cause for concern after talking with others who had done the same. The hardest part is making a decision on the property you would like to buy, the rest is easy. Having agonised for quite some time over purchasing a property in Greece we noticed an advert for Halkadiki Homes in the Greece Magazine in 2005. We contacted Julie through the website and organised with her for a visit to look around some apartments.

Getting organised couldn't have been simpler, Julie organised everything from our transport from Thessaloniki airport to car hire and accommodation for the weekend visit. Everything was done for us, we just had to turn up on time.

After a good nights sleep we met up with Julie who showed us around several properties which were all within our budget, we were given details on all the properties and shown around the area which they were in. We had actually seen a property which we had decided we would like on the website in Pefkohori, it fit all our criteria for ourselves and our two daughters. Julie showed us the property and we fell in love with it. Julie told us to think about it and we would look at some more apartments the next day.

We met the next morning and looked around several more apartments but we had already decided which one we wanted, once we had told Julie that we were very interested in the apartment in Pefkohori she took us back for another viewing, this made up our minds straight away and we put down a deposit the next day.

After that it was easy, we came went back to Greece about 6 weeks later, Julie had organised a solicitor for us and he was fantastic, he spoke perfect English and explained everything to us, all paperwork was in Greek but was translated for us into English, Julie was with us the whole way, she was very good as answering all our questions (and there were many of them) and she never once made us feel uneasy about any of the procedure.

Buying with Halkadiki Homes was very easy and quick, we would recommend to anybody the service and professionalism of all the team and we are sure they will carry on the good work for quite some time.

We researched about buying a property in Greece on the internet and found Halkidiki Homes.We were initially impressed by their website and they responded immediately to our enquiry.We found Julie both professional and efficient and it was clear as we started viewing properties that she had listened to all our requirements carefully.

We decided to buy and from then on it all happened quite quickly although we did come back to England in between finding a property and completing the purchase .

The whole process is very straight forward and although we are very cautious people and in some respects quite untrusting, both Julie and Dimitri reassured us and helped us throughout.
